It was established in 1965 then it was renewed and re- opened in 1992 during the fiftieth anniversary of El – Alamein Battle in which Germany , ltaly and the Allies took part. It is noteworthy that Germany , ltaly and England participated in enriching El- Alamein Museum through offering information and ancient military items. A new hall was established in order to stress on Egypt's role in the battle of El – Alamein

It includes five big halls and the central hall with the memorial site in its centre:

•  The first hall
It is the joint halls .which includes assets and war pieces belong to all the countries which took part in the war .

•  The second hall
It shows the Italian troops which took part in North- Africa battles .

•  The third hall
Egypt hall. this room was established under rehabilition works emphasysing Egypt 's role in the World War II

•  The fourth hall
It gives information about the German troops which took part in North Africa battles.

•  The first hall
shows British troops which took part in North Africa battles.

The Open Air Exhibition
It is the site which exhibits some of the heavy arms belong to the Allies and the Axis forces Which participated inWorld War II .
